I’ve lately been listening to Jason Mraz latest album Love is a four letter word, which was released in April. The album is such an awesome album! He is the whitest black singer, he’s got such soul in his music. When I need some calming music, he is one of the artists I turn to. I would love to attend his concert, even more so I’d love to meet him! He looks like he’s the type of person I could just hang out and be inspired by!
On the album itself, this particular song has a very nice intro – makes me laugh each time I hear it – unfortunately I wasn’t able to find it on Youtube. I highly suggest you getting the album, just try it out as it may surprise you!
This particular song is a very special one to me. It brings out some deep emotions within me..
I came across this post as I was reading the blogs on my Google Reader. I thought this was so beautiful, so I just wanted to share it with you. The original post is by Song of Stones.
Songs take you to another place. A place outside the noise and distraction of the mind’s criticisms and thoughts of gloom. They forge a pathway deep into your soul. It is a place of peacefulness. An alignment of harmony. A place where all parts of yourself converge into fluid unity. In that space you feel who you are – the true you, shed of layers of protective pretenses … free of deceptive disguises. It is a happy joyful state. There is no pain here. This is the place where true “healing” – true transformation – occurs. It is the opening to living an honest, authentic existence. It is a reunification of your self. It is your ego and soul … re-merged.
The Stone beings sing that song. They create an opening to the space of oneness. They hold that space until you are ready to enter. They accept you with unconditional love.
You can hear the song they sing for you … and they do have a song for you … they have many songs for you. You can hear the message that song holds for you. It is a personal message, one meant specially for you. Listen to what they say … it is your soul speaking to you through their voices.
You don’t have to be initiated and you don’t have to train for a set number of years and you don’t have to be a shaman or reiki master. You don’t need to receive an attunement or permission in order to hear the songs of the stones. This is something you already know how to do. You may have forgotten that you carry this inherent ability but YOU DO HAVE IT.
How do you reclaim that forgotten mastery? Simple … just listen. Listen to the stones. Listen to the silent voice inside you. Trust the words that come. Trust what your inner eye sees. Trust the feeling and inspiration that you receive. Trust yourself.
The stones will remind you. Simply being in their presence is enough to spark your memory. Spend time with them in the stillness and you will see. In the meantime, I’ll remind you. I’ll tell you over and over again to TRUST YOURSELF. That message – to remind you of your beautiful, natural gift – came to me through listening to the stones. I was able to hear it because I listened AND I trusted what came through. I trusted that it was true. That message is their summer song to you. It is a gift to both of us.
Trust yourself …
While there is so much trouble in this world, this song makes things just that much easier. I feel so calm and at ease when this song comes on. Then again, that’s what happens when listening to Bob anyways! Enjoy!
It’s been a couple of months and I feel like I’ve fallen out of the wagon. Music industry moves so fast, it seems. I haven’t had the energy nor the will to look up what’s new, what’s hot, who’s up and coming, new artists – anything like that. This song, however, has been on my top most played list. I had no idea they have a video of this song. The video seems very odd, and nothing to do with the song or the lyrics. It is one of those videos I kind of wish I wouldn’t have seen because then I can make my own video in my head.
What do you think? If you have any recommendations for me for what’s been going on over the past few months, please do tell me! :)
I came across this song by accident, it was a huge hit 9 years ago and I couldn’t stop listening to it! I feel like I’m old now, listening to all this stuff from back in the day. This song brings out so many thoughts, memories and feelings. I played it a lot when I had a crush on someone. I kind of wish I didn’t associate to the crush because it is a great song… I guess I could try and shift the association to that time of my life. Oh, to be young again!
Definite flashbacks from past!
So many thoughts, so many ideas, so much to say, so many inspirations, so many great visuals, and with so much great music in this world.. sometimes it’s hard and overwhelming to keep up with blogging. Especially since I want to include a bit of everything. I know I’ve been catching up with music, and news on music. Please bare with me for the other things as well. My head can be a bit of a chaotic mess at times..
Anyways, I know this isn’t really Friday type of music. I just came across it, and truly liked it. The song is called Wrong Side of a Love Song by a great singer from the UK, Melanie Fiona. Been listening to it a few times in a row now. Hope you enjoy it as well. Tell me your thoughts below on the comments :).
Where were you when I needed a friend
Thought I could be strong
Never knew I’d be so lost
A heart breaker, most of my life
Suddenly it all changed
The moment you left me
I walked off my life
I try to break through
But you said I was playing myself
What you gotta know about me
is that I can make this glory, hell
And I don’t wanna live without you
Cause I can hardly breathe without you
This is what it feel to be the one
Who’s never left behind
How did I become the wrong side of the love song?
Baby, I’m a mess
Out of every piece and part of me
You’re always the best
But it said I was leaving you here alone
But I didn’t mean it,
No, I didn’t mean it
Now I’m begging baby come home
And you got me singing
why you wanna make me cry
I’ll be thinking ’bout you
Got me dreaming ’bout you
every single day and night
