I absolutely love this song! I knew the sample, Children, from way back when my best friend’s neighbor used to listen to the song. Of course, I had to record it on a cassette, it was that good! I guess trance/dance has always been part of my music taste.
Dot Rotten has actually included the original artist, Robert Miles, as a feature for the song TMS.
Emeli Sande has one of those unique sounds to her voice. When I first heard of her music, at the time she was still up and coming, I thought there was something special and that one day, she’ll be on the charts. I’m happy she made it! (Not that the music on the charts specifies good music, it’s quite the opposite nowadays.) Over these past few weeks, this song has been on my playlist quite a lot.
Emeli has been in the background writing for music for the likes of Cher Lloyd, Alesha Dixon, Leona Lewis, Cheryl Cole, Tinieh Tempah and Mutya Keish Siobhan (formerly known as Sugababes). Although she was raised in Scotland, she is of Zambian-English descent. Hence her intriguing looks.
Her debut album Our Version of Eventswas released early February 2012.
Last night I dreamed that I hugged Beyonce! Wishful thinking, I know. Strange things happened in my dreams anyways, that’s for another time! In any case, it left me a song playing in my head. This song is not a stranger in this blog – Why don’t you love me. This song is possibly one of the best songs live by Queen Bee, if not the best! I love the energy she brings out when she plays and sings the song. I have a love/hate relationship with Beyonce, some days I can’t stand her, other days I think she is one of the coolest cats out there! I really don’t know what it is about her!!
Do you prefer this song live or the recorded version? What do you think of the video?
Right now, in this moment, life is so beautiful. I couldn’t be more happier at the moment. This also shows in the music that I listen to. I found this nice mix not too long ago, I find myself going back to it even when I’ve listened to the mix over and over again. I don’t like the transitions or the annoying sounds they put behind the songs but I guess it comes with the territory.
Hope y’all have a good weekend, and a nice day! Enjoy!
